ELEON ELEA 4213 DETAILED RATING

A common problem that occurs with most wireless headphones is the lack of a proper design. Even if the design contains features that make a particular device portable, it is possible that the materials used are inexpensive, and the headphones are at least inexpensive and thin. However, a thin line has to be drawn here, since robust metal materials for construction can also make it easier to operate a Bluetooth headset. These two possibilities can also have a significant impact on your listening experience, especially if you want your headphones to reach their limits. Eleon, the exclusive audio brand of consumer electronics retailer Tata Croma, is trying to get it right with ELEA 4213. Are you OK with these factors and more? Let’s find out.

BUILDING AND DESIGNING

Compared to its plastic counterparts, such as the JBL E55BT, the ELEA 4213 is based on a metallic design. However, it should not be said that the design is made entirely of metal – the material used for construction is still mainly plastic. The yoke, as well as the lid of the box, are made of metal, which gives the construction a certain weight. For a wireless headset, this is almost never a good thing, and ELEA 4213 is no exception. You will definitely feel a resistance when it is wrapped around your neck, without wearing it, and after prolonged use, there is an obvious feeling of relief when you take off the headphones.

The keys of the ELEA 4213 are the standard set. The playback and pairing buttons are located flat on the front of the right frame, and the ANC slider is located on the front of the left frame. There are special buttons for volume control and lane change. All the buttons are made of plastic and they are clickable, but they are quite easy to reach and it takes a while to get used to. But since they are absolutely flat, there is no way to distinguish between the volume and lane change buttons by simply touching them.

The clamping force of the ELEA 4213 is not too great, but it is more than its lighter counterparts such as the E55BT, which are necessary due to their additional weight. The foam padding on the headband and on the headphones is also enough, but the quality could have been better. The synthetic leather fabric covering the headband and atria has significant folds.

The foam inside the headset feels affordable and has weak seams that may be prone to tearing if you don’t use the included hard cover before storing it in your backpack.

On the other hand, due to the inclusion of metal in the construction, these units can hold more tension than usual, without showing signs of stretching or cracking.

The scope of delivery includes a carrying cover, as well as a micro USB power cable and an AUXILIARY cable. The AUXILIARY cable is quite standard and is 1.2 meters long, which should be more than enough for most uses. Although the material is sturdy enough even for regular use, do not expect it to withstand extreme loads and that your headphones will be safely stored inside at all costs.

FUNCTION

One of the first things that distinguishes the Eleon ELEA 4213 from its counterparts is the active noise cancellation. Activated by a slider on the front of the left atrium, its presence is felt even when you are not using the headphones to listen.

When it comes to performance, the ANC feels stuffy for people who are not used to headphones with this technology. The performance of the ANC is quite satisfactory, but ambient noise, such as that of an air conditioner directly behind you or a noisy PC setup, is not completely hidden. It dulls it enough to make it ignorable.

With the ELEA 4213 you also get 3.5mm connectivity. However, the performance of this mode is not comparable to the Bluetooth performance. You also get connectivity with two devices at the same time.
