The Intex Q11 is a below-average smartphone in every respect. It fails due to performance, camera and almost everything else. We recommend that you spend a little more on the purchase of the Xiaomi Redmi 3S.
DETAILED STUDY OF INTEX CLOUD Q11 4G
Smartphone manufacturers are tirelessly innovating in budget segments. Unfortunately, the innovations that we have seen in the sub-20k or sub-15k segment have not yet had an impact on the phones, which cost even less. To be precise, most sub-7k smartphones still have 2-year-old hardware and poor performance compared to the last generations. When the Intex Q11 4G was dropped off in my office, I was not sure how it would behave. Honestly, the phone does not look very competent on paper.
Interestingly, the virtual reality functions built into it are its main feature. But we’ll come back to that after. For now, let’s start with the appearance.
Building and Designing
The design and build quality of the Intex Q11 4G are pedestrian-friendly. The glossy back of the phone is strange and somewhat inexpensive. It also looks low-end, but looks quite robust, given the price. There is a certain weight and although the surface looks fragile, it does not scratch easily and withstands occasional bumps. Intex provides an additional transparent cover and a screen protector in the box, but I think there is certainly room for improvement.
In addition to the two power and volume buttons on the cover, there is a silent switch on the left side of the phone. The three body buttons work as expected, but sometimes they don’t respond. In addition, the buttons feel flat, as if the phone were in a cover.
In addition, the phone looks like a copy of the Intex 5.5 VR smartphone, which was released a few months ago. Both devices also share functions.
Display and user interface
In addition, the screens of both devices are the same. The 5.5-inch screen of the phone looks pretty good, given the price. The tactile reaction is shaky, but sometimes it sounds more like a missed heartbeat. This works sometimes, but for others, it requires more than one touch.
Slow performance degrades touch performance below normal, which I will explain in the Performance section. The color rendition is quite good, but even here, the viewing angles are quite normal. In addition, the visibility in the sun is not good and there is a color change that is visible from less wide angles.
The user interface also remains the same. It has a warehouse facade, which is then integrated into an ecosystem with advertising. There are almost a dozen pre-installed applications, most of which cannot be uninstalled. The camera app has shortcuts to a purchase and editing app. Intex’s own app aggregator will still appear in the device’s notification panel and can only be deleted after opening and installing some apps. If you don’t want to, you just have to live with it.
The home screen on the far left contains weather information and current news from the associated apps. While some like this and it works as expected, it gives the impression that the phone is primarily designed to sell apps instead of providing a good experience.
